Permitting Process Handling

Beginning with the site inspection, our team will discuss your bulkhead plans, and provide a permit evaluation.

In order to ensure that your proposed project will meet regulatory policy, AAE will often conduct a pre-application meeting with the regulatory agencies prior to actual permit submittal. These meetings are routinely conducted with the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), North Carolina Division of Coastal Management (CAMA), the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and local agencies. The outcome of this task is a clear direction on how to best prepare your proposed bulkhead application, meet regulatory policy, and therefore obtain expedited permit approval.

Our years of consulting experience allows us to not just fill out the forms, but to speak the regulatory language, anticipate concerns, and provide the necessary application information based upon our past successes. The end result is a solid regulatory relationship, a proven track record, and quicker permit approvals.

Bulkhead , Seawall & Breakwater Design

Our in-house bulkhead and seawall design team, with more than 30 years experience, will evaluate all of the necessary criteria for your bulkhead and seawall design including the site topography, grading, soil properties, embedment stability, water table, wall material properties, wave forces, toe scour, wave overtopping, and storm surge. The end result will be a bulkhead and seawall design that will provide the best and most cost effective solution for your site. The bulkhead and seawall plans completed under this phase will be essential to the subsequent permitting and construction phases.

Helical Pile Design & Installation Certification

Helical Pile Foundation Systems are designed, tested, and proven for applications in areas with unstable soils, like that of homes built near beaches or on canals. Helical steel piers can be installed in place of conventional driven wood, steel, auger cast, and caissons. These piers are faster and install with a minimal amount of landscaping damage.
